A small legal multi-unit is owned by a family or families, a special needs trust, or a 3rd party not providing the services. This model may take the form of a duplex, an accessory unit attached to the family home, or a triple-decker. Units might be re-configurable to facilitate changes in support needs. This model was selected by the think tank for only 3 of 12 hypothetical residents, but is included here because one was a resident with complex, intensive needs.
