Results of annual AFC stipend survey are now available

Every year, Autism Housing Pathways contacts Adult Family/Foster Care (AFC) agencies to ask them to share information about the stipend they pay caregivers for Level 1 and Level 2 care.  The AFC program is one of the most important resources tapped by families to provide care for their adult family members. The results of this year’s survey shows that the average stipend among those agencies providing information is  $26.16/day for Level 1 care, and $50.62/day for Level 2 care. Level 1 care is for those who need at least prompting with at least one activity of daily living, while Level 2 care is for those who need physical assistance with at least three activities of daily living, or with two activities if a maladaptive behavior is present. A complete description of the activities of daily living covered and the assistance required to qualify for the AFC program is available here.

The survey results are available here, while a list of providers that did not provide information is here.

The next meeting of Autism Housing Pathways is Wednesday, January 6th, from 7-9 PM via Zoom.
